For this video I’m going to show you how you can come in and optimize your Etsy listings to maximize the free search engine traffic you get from within Etsy.

And a big part of that is adding in photos. I’m going to be uploading photos showing my t-shirt on different types of models and also at different angles. Click ‘Add a photo’.

Select the photo that you want to use then click ‘Open’.

Now I’ll show you something that you cando with your photo once you’ve uploaded it. So what you can do is you can come in and you can see how it would be laid out in different screen ratios. After you’ve selected, click ‘Save’.

This is so that you can make sure that your design is within the center or close to the center so that people will be able to see it because that is going to be what gets people to click on your listing.

You can also come in and you can adjust the thumbnail because your primary picture is going to be your thumbnail.

So you can come in and you can zoom in on it, which is generally a good idea because you want your design to be nice and big so that people will be able to easily see it while they are browsing through Etsy search results. After adjusting your thumbnail, click ‘Save’.

Now, something that Printify does is provide you with free photos, although generally I don’t recommend using these because a lot of people use them and so they do look quite generic since they show up on a lot of websites.

Instead, I recommend that you go on and over to PlaceIt and that you use their mockup photos to create the pictures for your Etsy listing. Now, the really cool thing about Place It is that while they do have a paid plan with a ton of different photos, they also have a free plan which still has quite a few photos on it. Nowhere near as many as their paid plan. But if you’re on a low startup budget, you can still create free mockup photos with Place It. So I have a tutorial video inside step 3 video series. I highly recommend checking it out. Something else that you can also see is that I’m about to upload the sizing chart. It’s often good to upload it as a picture just so that you can make sure that customers do choose the right size before they purchase a product based.

The more photos you have, the higher the conversions of your listing. Which is why in the future adding in a video for it could also be a really good idea because a video will help improve the conversions for your product as well.

Because while you can see here that I have added in as many keywords as I can, I’ve used up all of my characters. I highly recommend that you do as well. Keywords are not the only factor as to why a product ranks.

A big part about why a product ranks is because of the fact that it converts well. Etsy search engine looks to see. Does this product convert? Well, if it does, it’s going to push it up in the rankings. Now, you can see here that a lot of the settings for us have actually been added in for us, and that’s Printify. Printify automatically selects the right settings there for us so that we don’t have to worry about that. However, you do need to come in and modify the description. You don’t just want to have the stock description that Printify adds in. So go in and change it up and create your own description.

And make sure that you do select a printing partner, because it is a requirement within Etsy. That you disclose if you are using a printing partner. So I already added in Monster Digital, so I just want to select that since the other supplier I’m using is Printify here. And so come in here and add in as many tags as you can. So for here, you want to add tags that relate to a few things. You want to add in tags that are related to your niche, but you also want to add in tags that are relevant to the type of product that you’re selling. So, for example, here we’re selling a unisex t-shirt, soI’m going to add in the keyword unisex into it. As you’ll see. Now, for materials, you also want to just put in tags related to the materials that you’re selling. So, for example, if you’re selling a soft cotton t-shirt, you would come in here and you would put in soft cotton.

Now, scrolling down, we don’t have to go in and modify the pricing of the different variations because of the fact that Printify has already done that for us, which is really, really convenient.

Something else that’s also very convenient that Printify does is they add in your printing partners shipping costs. So here, for example, Monster Digital charges $4.35 for domestic USA shipping for a single t-shirt. So it’s added in there for us automatically.

And here, you will also want to select the policy that you set up earlier. Click ‘Apply’.

So I set this up for no returns or exchanges. And then you just go ahead and publish your listing.

Double check it to make sure that it’s looking the way that you want it to look.

And I think that you’ll see here that by having all of these different pictures that we’ve uploaded, that it makes the listing look a lot more professional and also a lot more enticing because we’re showing it at different angles. Plus, we’re showing it on both a female model and a male model so that people can see how it would look on them. The more a customer can visualize a product in themselves wearing it, the more likely they are to purchase it.

Now, something that I did notice while I was reviewing this product was that I didn’t add in the correct title. So I just went back in to change that. Type in your desired title again then click ‘Save’.

And while I was doing that, I actually encountered a very common glitch with an Etsy. I’ll show it to you. So sometimes, if you click Publish or you click Preview, you’ll get this error message. What you should try to do is just try and click the button again and it will usually work. It’s just a funny little glitch within the system where if you press it too fast, the system needs you to press it a second time.

The things to keep in mind are one, having a title that has lots of different keywords in it and two, adding in pictures and in the future videos into your listing to help increase its conversions. Because what the Etsy algorithm does is it looks at the relevance of your product to the keyword that the customer searched, and then it looks to see which items that were relevant to that search term converted with the customers so creating a beautiful listing that has pictures and potentially videos will help increase conversions, which will help your search engine rankings.

And actually, if you don’t want to take videos yourself, fair enough. You can get beautiful product videos over on PlaceIt as well, which is a little tip that a lot of people don’t realize, but it can greatly help you increase your conversions too. But I’m sure that some of you want to see how the product looks inside of our store. So let’s take a look at the store that we built throughout this tutorial series. You’ll see that it’s simple yet beautiful. And the really cool thing is that creating this store did not take long at all. It took me less than 30 minutes to create this.

And yet we’ve got the simple yet beautiful store up on Etsy within that short time frame. So you can see that this is something that is very beginner-friendly. So go ahead, optimize your product listings and I’ll see you on the next video.
