In this tutorial, we are going to install and setup one of my favorite Shopify apps, CM Commerce Marketing. So go ahead and click on Apps, and then click on Visit the Shopify App Store button. Then on the app store search bar, type in ‘cm commerce marketing’.
Then choose CM Commerce Email Marketing, click on Add App.
Then click on Install App.
Next, you need to create an account with them. Put the email address that you would want to use and choose a password and then click Next.
Now, you want to add your logo because it will add your store logo to the emails that you send out. It’s a really great opportunity to put your branding. As we’ve already added our logo, just click ‘Yes’.
Next, just ‘Skip’ the option for the email font.
Go to Update Billing then click ‘Add Now’.
You have to choose a plan and the Starter Plan is absolutely alright. And it comes with a free 30 day trial.
You need to put your credit card details then just click Finish Setup.
Now click on ‘Dashboard’.
Once the Dashboard loads, click on the Activate under the Abandoned Cart Workflow.
Then go to Abandoned Cart Simple 1 and click on Edit.
So what I’m doing right now is I’m changing the color of the Finish Shopping Button to brown color because of the fact that my store is about coffee and I recommend doing the same thing, choosing a color that matches your brand. Click the section of the email that you want to edit then go to ‘Styling’. You can now go ahead and change the colors you want for those to match your brand color scheme. Once you’re done, click ‘Save & Close’.
Now the base email is absolutely fine. You don’t have to change it, you can if you want, but it’s been designed to work with any store.
Next, you want to go to the next step. We’ll do the exact same thing again. Once again, this template is fine as it is, you can change it if you want, but it’s neutral enough to work with any store. Customers only get sent with this email if they purchase something within 24 hours. So change the button colors for this template same as the first email.
Now go back, and we want to edit the last email. So once again we’re going to change the button colors, but again leave the email as is, you can modify the email or change the wording, change the images but the base design is absolutely fine for a vast majority of stores.
Next, tick on Set Workflow Live to turn on the email sequences. Then click on Exit Editor button.
Next, select Workflow Ideas. Then go to Receipt. Then click ‘Use Recipe.’
Same with the Abandoned Cart email, do the same thing with ‘Receipt-Basic’ as you click on ‘Edit’.
So this is the easy part, now you need to the Profile button then go to Account settings.
On the From Name field, put your store name and on the Email field, put the email that you want to use and you want your users to see. Then click on Save Sender Settings button.
Next, scroll down and go to the DKIM and SPF Protection field, make sure that the domain name is the domain of your store. Then come and click on Start Domain Verification.
Next, you need to add some settings to your Shopify store , on the dashboard click on Online Store then Domain and click Manage next to your store’s domain name.
Now, click on DNS Settings.
Then go back to the DKIM and SPF Protection section, copy the Hostname and Value.
And go back to Shopify and click on Add custom record button, click Txt record.
Then add the hostname you’ve copied to the Name field. Next, copy the text on the Enter the Value field in DKIM section then go back to the Text record in DNS settings and paste it to the TXT Value field. Next, click on Confirm button.
They need to see and verify that you really own the domain. And you also need to change settings of your domain name so that you set emails. Now, do the same thing with the other two values in the DKIM and SPF Protection section.
Once, you’ve added in those 3 different records, click on the Check Again Now button and keep pressing that button until you get all three validated.
